Before the JOBY Magnetic Gorillapod was invented, if you wanted to take a photo of yourself (or just take a stable shot) you would need either a) a tripod, b) a friend, c) a stack of books or d) a dexterous hand on a long arm that never touches caffeinated beverages. What do they have in common? None of them are pocket portable.
The Gorillapod has strong magnets that give you extra mounting options, and flexible legs for wrapping, standing and adjusting heights.
We love the Gorillapods so much, that they are now standard gear for all SeV photoshoots because they can really come in handy for achieving funky angles and being the cameraman for impromptu group photos.
This isn't strong enough to support a heavy DSLR (it can hold cameras up to 11.5 oz), but most digital cameras, Flip Minos and similar will work fine.
It attaches to the standard screw-in mount on the bottom of most cameras, and can double as refrigerator art if you are so inclined.
