Water-resistant vs. Waterproof

A garment that is water-resistant is "treated with a finish that is resistant but not impervious to penetration by water," while a garment that is waterproof is "covered or treated with a material to prevent permeation by water." Finetex® is waterproof material, but please note that all of the seams are not sealed.
