Provides full reach to the back of the SCOTTEVEST (SeV) through the front handwarmer pockets without having to remove the garment. The interior side seams, accessible from the handwarmer pockets, use hook and loop fasteners to close them. If you break this "seal", you will then have access to the back panel of the jacket. Use this to store things that you want to have with you but don't need readily accessible all the time, e.g., your gloves on a warm day, extra batteries, etc. This is also how you route wires and Camelbak® straws from the back pocket to the front of the jacket.
