SCOTTEVEST® BRINGS TECHNOLOGY ENABLED CLOTHING® TO THE
iPOD GENERATION
INTRODUCING VERSION 4.0: Clothing
line expands fourfold
KETCHUM,
IDAHO —Capitalizing on the growing
popularity of iPods, cell phones, and other electronic devices, SCOTTEVEST,
INC. (SeV), the only company making Technology Enabled Clothing (TEC)®,
today announced the release of its newest product line, Version 4.0.
Version 4.0 expands SeV’s offerings fourfold, as the company addresses
the needs of an increasingly “wired” world. The Version
4.0 line adds many new items to SeV’s existing products. It includes
lounge pants, microfleece pullovers, hoodies, cargo pants, shorts, and
baseball caps, in addition to the company’s signature jackets
and vests. All 4.0 products feature the patented Technology Enabled
Clothing® system.
SeV is the only company authorized to sell Technology
Enabled Clothing-TEC®. TEC has become synonymous with designing
functional fashion that incorporates third party electronic devices
into clothing through its patented
Personal Area Network (PAN). The PAN allows users to wear clothing
without any visible wires, and connects devices through a hidden conduit
system. Additionally, he TEC system offers other unique features, such as patent
pending magnetic closures and a multitude of ergonomic pockets designed
to hold various electronic devices.
SeV’s Version 4.0 product line is emblematic of the company’s attempts to cater to a younger, more fashion-conscious audience. As part of its new marketing campaign, SeV recently introduced a parody of Apple’s popular iPod commercials. Inspired by SeV customer and Apple’s co-founder Steve Wozniak, the commercial humorously outlines the benefit of SeV products while satirizing the dancing silhouettes that have become synonymous with Apple’s iPod campaign. The commercial has become an instant hit, and can be viewed online at www.SCOTTEVEST.com/ipod/index.shtml.
Until now, SeV’s products have been only available online (www.SCOTTEVEST.com)
and through limited retail outlets, including Neiman Marcus’ catalogues
and the International Spy Museum. Due to overwhelming demand, SeV expects
to broaden its distribution channels exponentially with the introduction
of Version 4.0. The company is currently in negotiations with numerous
department stores and high-end specialty retailers and catalogues and
expects that you will soon see SeV’s Technology Enabled Clothing
(TEC)® to be offered in most major stores by the 2005 holiday season.
When it debuted in 2001, SeV’s clothing line was an instant hit
among “techies”, who valued the ability to carry and use
devices in a convenient way. In addition, the products received high
praise from undercover law enforcement officer --including President
Bush’s Secret Service detail-- who were drawn by the ability to
discretely carry and use multiple electronic devices and weapons in
the concealed ergonomically designed pocket systems.
Now, as SeV continues to develop its product line, it has focused on maintaining the functionality of the products while placing a stronger emphasis on style. “With the
release of Version 4.0, it is now possible to be fully outfitted in
SeV clothing, and to simultaneously present a very fashionable and stylish
look,” said Scott Jordan, SeV’s CEO and Founder.
SeV’s Version 4.0 product line includes a variety of different
functional fashion products for the tech-savvy individual and casual
user alike. Included in the Version 4.0 line are SeV’s new Tactical
Jacket, Fleece Jacket, both a Microsuede and Lambskin Jacket, Hoodie,
T-shirt, Lounge Pants, and TEC® Hat. Most of SeV’s Version
4.0 is now available, but in an attempt to coordinate its release with
the holiday season, SeV will release a handful of 4.0 products in the
months to come. Version 4.0 is set to debut at the world’s largest
apparel show, Magic
International, in Las Vegas, NV, on August 29th through September
1st. (Booth #30673 - near the entrance of High 5 Basecamp, Streetwear section booth # 30673. Directly across from Everlast).
All SeV products will be available online at www.SCOTTEVEST.com. To see a complete description of the items included in Version
