SCOTTEVEST Internship Program 2014

SCOTTEVEST is looking for highly-motivated, success-driven individuals with some hustle and an entrepreneurial spirit to apply for our SCOTTEVEST Internship Program 2014. As one of the world’s most innovative online travel clothing companies we will host a 8-week paid internship program, from June 9, 2014 through August 1, 2014 (flexible). Qualifications:

We see interns to be a primary pipeline for full time opportunities therefore intern candidates are preferably at the collegiate senior level, enrolled in a Bachelors’ or Masters’ program (GPA of 3.0 or above). In addition, in order to be successful at SCOTTEVEST you need to have the right attitude, NO propensity for drama, and a good sense of humor! You will employ your implementer skills to “get it done” and figure things out with curiosity and determination. You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be a great listener, very detail-oriented and "get" what our brand is all about. Being tech savvy and knowing your way around a computer (email, live chat) is very important.

Creative Director/Art Director/Content Czar

We need a super-smart "Jack or Jill of all trades" for a Creative/Art Director and Content Director role. This is a marketing and e-commerce management AND implementation position, and requires both hands-on operation and management/direction skills to be successful. It gives you the reins for visuals and words, so if you are a multi-disciplinary creative-type, this could be your dream job.

This position requires coordinating the efforts of multiple team members but it has a heavy emphasis on being an operator... someone who gets their hands dirty at every turn and leads by example. The difference between you and someone you manage is that YOU will ultimately be responsible for the accuracy, quality and implementation of whatever you spec. There is no safety net… you are the safety net.

The Creative Director role is a very fast-paced, career-track position at a quickly growing company. There is room for advancement based on performance, but you must be capable of top-of-the-food-chain level work. You MUST be a details person, a fast learner, able to juggle multiple priorities and capable of working independently while giving team members the direction they need to maintain significant forward momentum on all projects. Part of the CD/AD/CCz role is focused on implementing marketing programs from email marketing (organizing content, writing copy and graphics directions/creation/editing/implementing) to PPC advertising to creative project management, and making sure all of the people involved are moving the ball forward. There are constant, aggressive deadlines. Part of this role is focused on improving key, scalable metrics related to our e-commerce program (Conversion Rate, Funnel Conversion Rate, Bounce Rate, etc.) and improving site usability, but much of this requires a creative/artistic eye. All of this role is focused on identifying goals and working backward to lay out the steps to achieve them... and then doing it. Tech savvy is critical, but the role does not require more than intermediate coding skills.

The successful candidate must be able to participate in developing and implementing marketing and e-commerce plans to drive sales, improve sales cycles and boost customer experience. This candidate must be capable of strategic, tactical and creative thinking who can roll up his/her sleeves and execute on their own (and our) plans. You will be involved in the planning and oversight of improvements to the shopping experience, cart/checkout and all e-comm-related UI. You will coordinate with other online advertising and promotional activities including search and email marketing. You don't need to be an expert coder, but you need to know how to code. You don't need to be a graphic designer, but you need to know how to pop open Photoshop and "photo chop" an update to a graphic at the last second before it needs to go live. Bonus points for exceeding these minimum skill requirements.

Technical aptitude is strongly appreciated, and though you are not expected to be a coder, you will need to be able to learn intermediate level HTML and not be intimidated by it. A Bachelor's Degree and some level of experience in B2C marketing/e-commerce roles is a requirement. We are open to an ambitious mid-level candidate or a seasoned veteran. Ad agency experience would be considered a plus, but our culture is very different from many agencies.

  • Coordinate our media advertising calendar: proofread and test landing pages, set up promo codes, ensure pages are set up on time and correctly, communicate information to Customer Service
  • Launch Daily Sales and monthly promotions
  • Coordinate tasks and track progress toward their completion for the Marketing Team
  • Prepare metrics dashboards for the Marketing Team and update data on a set schedule and on demand
  • Review and approve (or reject) product reviews
  • Review sample and media requests and reject or approve based on set criteria

      Video Storyteller/Shooter/Editor/Motion Graphics w/Great Sense of Humor - (Sun Valley, ID)

      We are SCOTTEVEST (www.scottevest.com), a clothing line famous for our tons of hidden pockets, and we are currently in a major growth phase! Even better... you would primarily be based in Sun Valley, Idaho (ski, snowboard and summer haven!).

      We are seeking a hilarious storyteller to join our in-house marketing team. The medium for these "stories" is video, and you will be responsible for scripting, setting up, shooting, editing and motion graphics... but while the technical skills are vital to succeeding, the mindset and talent for crafting a story is even more important. This is a very fast-paced position at a quickly growing company, and you will be joining a close-knit team who already knows the lay of the land. You MUST have a great sense of humor (and it can't just be your Mom who thinks so), be organized, creative, a fast worker and a fast learner. We appreciate the art of filmmaking, but our goals are brand and marketing driven, and we're not looking to craft artistic masterpieces (well, maybe a few). Videos will range from down-and-dirty one take videos (slap on an intro/outro > render > post) to teleprompter driven product demos with b-roll, cutaways and VO to behind-the-scenes documentary/mockumentary filming of office antics. Fair warning: we shoot A LOT on greenscreen, and although we have a pretty sweet studio setup, if you can't key cleanly and quickly you will not do well here. 99% of what we shoot is for the web, so be up on encoding, youtube posting, etc. End goal: put out videos that people NEED to pass around to all their friends... viral.

      You will need the following:

      Mindset

      • Impeccable sense of comedic timing and a GREAT sense of humor. We push the envelope - and sometimes cross the line - but that is not our focus. Infusing edgy humor without alienating shoppers is the goal.
      • Ability to take loose direction and run with it.
      • Have a knack for ingesting content and picking out key scenes to include in a polished presentation.
      • Ability to take critique and implement changes based on it. We move too fast for "compliment sandwiches" so you will need a thick skin and know that critiques are meant to achieve the ultimate goal.
      • Great work ethic. Life doesn't just happen 9-5, so there needs to be some flex in your schedule.
      • We need you to be organized at your core, not just as something you do to files. Mental organization and the ability to think things through to their logical conclusion is critical; file organization flows from that.

      Skills

      • Expertise in Mac editing suites from iMovie to Final Cut (Express or Pro), Live Type and After Effects/motion graphics.
      • HD filming is ~50% of the job. We have a variety of equipment, a lot of it high-end consumer or pro grade.
      • Motion graphics (and/or graphic design) experience is preferable, as well as a cool aesthetic. If you don't know motion graphics and adding text, etc. brush up on those skills.
      • Lighting experience is critical. You don't need to have awards for it, but as stated we use greenscreen a lot and it doesn't work without great lighting. We have the gear.Great work ethic. Life doesn't just happen 9-5, so there needs to be some flex in your schedule.
      • Still photography skills (products, people) are a MAJOR plus.

      There are three categories of tasks for which you will be responsible:

      Trade Show and Events Manager

      SCOTTEVEST has an immediate opportunity for a Trade Show and Events Manager to join our dedicated team. The focus of the position will be leading the operation and execution of domestic trade shows and events, including onsite management (attendance at events required, with domestic travel up to 50%). The TSE Manager will become the face of SCOTTEVEST in leading our critical customer-facing opportunities at events.       • Must have an Entrepreneurial spirit and love sales. You will be in charge
      • Manage /coordinate all SCOTTEVEST trade shows. Research market for shows and events. Be able to plan multiple tradeshows and events from conception to completion simultaneously

      Director of E-Commerce & Customer Experience

      This role is focused on improving key, scalable metrics related to our e-commerce program (Conversion Rate, Funnel Conversion Rate, Bounce Rate, etc.) and improving site usability. The successful candidate must be able to develop and implement a metrics-based e-commerce plan to drive sales, improve sales cycle, improve other key performance metrics and customer experience. This candidate must be a proven strategist who can roll up his/her sleeves and drive execution through the management of third party PPC and retargeting vendors. We are looking for a razor sharp analyst/statistician who can convert numbers-driven insights into actionable plans every day of the week.

      Your experience providing strategic, numbers-driven direction in online sales will help fuel SCOTTEVEST's continued growth. You will be tasked with identifying and exploiting opportunities for targeting new, current and past customers in novel and effective ways. You will be involved in the planning and oversight of improvements to the shopping experience, cart/checkout and all e-comm-related UI. You will coordinate with other online advertising and promotional activities including search and email marketing, and you may take on a management role in the larger marketing team based upon your experience and aptitudes (but what we really need is an analyst/statistician… someone who lives and dies by the numbers). Or hopefully just lives by them.

      Your experience in overseeing content development and implementation does not necessarily need to extend to creative and writing. If you can identify keywords and potential areas of growth, manage A/B testing, handle spending AdGroup by AdGroup, and call out targets to focus our creative energy, you will be doing your job. Google Analytics is key. Your expertise at Google Analytics (which means you are not signing up for GA right now while reading this) will help us improve sales metrics, conversion and bounce rates, and will impact merchandising, inventory planning, and promotional planning. You must be an analyst.

      Experience in marketing, managing a budget with ROI measurements, presentation skills, and executing strategy are bonuses for this role. Technical aptitude is vital, but you are not expected to be a coder. A Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 or more years of experience in B2C e-commerce roles including substantial responsibility for direct-to-consumer online sales is required, as well as a working knowledge of e-commerce platforms and user-experience/flow.
