Let's Talk About Leather
Okay, we're out of the closet: We have a leather fetish. Maybe you do too, and if so, there's no better way to satisfy it than by trying on one of the SCOTTeVEST Limited Edition Leather Versions. We've received an overwhelming response to this edition, so they won't last long. Featuring all the same features from Version 2.5 (except magnets and removable sleeves), the leather edition will also include some unique features and improvements. Only 500 of these babies will be made, each individually numbered and signed, making them true collector's items. Pre-order your leather SCOTTeVEST now and save $150. Delivery is expected by this Fall.

Ready for Spring?
With spring just around the corner (oh yeah? Tell that to the people on the eastern seaboard), now's the perfect time to be thinking about your April apparel. No spring wardrobe is complete without the SCOTTeVEST Sport TEC (also known as the eVEST formerly known as Sport Lite). For those who lead an active lifestyle, Sport TEC is the ideal choice to carry your gadgets in the warmer weather of spring... MORE >> |

Don't Forget to Accessorize
The SeV is a stylin' garment. And anyone stylin' enough to wear such an item, also understands the importance of accessorizing. With this in mind, may we suggest a couple of fine accessories to help bring you and your SCOTTeVEST even greater joy. The Sapphire Micro-Light by RoadWired, for instance, weighing four-tenths of an ounce, easily clips on to the SeV to provide a powerful sapphire blue LED that emits a stunningly bright beam. Can be seen in the dark from a mile away! MORE >> |

Employee (and Mascot) of the Month
People often assume that Scott Jordan is the heart and soul of SCOTTeVEST LLC just because his name happens to be in the company title. Well, he may be the brains behind this operation, but ask anyone in the know who's REALLY the driving force behind the SeV and they'll tell you without hesitation -- that's its Kelly Adoggi. Kelly, SeV's Director of Marketing and CEO (Chief Excavating Officer), may look like an ordinary poodle, but looks can be so deceiving...

Making Modern Cultural History
Who says we don't have culture? The SeV is obviously being taken seriously as a form of art, witnessed by the fact that it has now cropped up in its second museum. First, there was the International Spy Museum. Now, The Tech Museum of Innovation, located in San Jose, Calif., has seen fit to include the SCOTTeVEST as one of its exhibits. As part of the museum's "Curiosity Counter" presentations, the SeV is twice daily carted out on a Xybernaut model for fawning over by the public. First there was the Commodore 64, then there was Windows, and now it's the SeV. Making tech history! |

SeV MINI Ready to Take on the World
The SeV MINI, last spotted (when not spotted in our Spot the SeV MINI contest, that is) beating the pants off of some Porsches in a racing event, is preparing for the 2003 Racing Season. This year, driver/CEO Scott Jordan will be taking on BMWs, Acura NSXs and, oh yeah, Porsches again. Yawn. It's getting boring beating the stuffing out of those "performance vehicles." It's like Martha Stewart beating on George Foreman with one of his own grills. Too easy. Maybe we can coax the Blue Flame out of retirement.

SeV in 'Nawlins
If you happen to be in the Big Easy later this month, come check us out in the Fashion in Motion Show at the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTIA) Wireless 2003 show : March 17-19, New Orleans. If you spot us, come say hi. Scott will be at the show when he's not eating a Po' Boy, sippin' on a hurricane and handing out beads. Scott Jordan will be one of the presenters for the fashion show and will be speaking on the impact of wearable computers on mobile computing.

Recent Media
Those press people can't get enough of the SCOTTeVEST. We continue to crop up in the finest publications and media outlets around, such as the Chicago Tribune (which recently quoted Scott Jordan as a high tech clothing expert), Playboy (Watch for err, uncoverage, in the June issue), BBC World News (as part of the London Fashion Week events in a worldwide broadcast) and the Chicago Sun Times. Dingbatmag.com recently took a fancy to the SeV as well. |

The Future is Now
More and more, people are simply wearing their technology, proof positive that the SCOTTeVEST is no fad -- it's here to stay. In its report, The Global Market for Wearable Computers: The Quest for Killer Applications, Venture Development Corporation projects global shipments of wearable computers to grow to over $563 million by 2006. Driving this growth will be the expanding use of wearable computers in vertical markets and applications in which tangible ROI, cost savings, and improved customer satisfaction prove the benefits derived via "hands free" computing and real-time access to information, VDC says...

Our Readers Write In
What our users are saying: "How do you clean it."
What we say: Well, first things first: remove all your devices from the SCOTTeVEST. Version 2.5 cannot be dry-cleaned, as it will ruin the fabric. So that leaves machine washing. Follow these instructions: machine wash cold with like colors; delicate cycle; no bleach; tumble dry on low heat; cool iron if necessary; do not steam press.
"I bought a Version 2.5, but the main zipper pull broke. Can this be replaced?"
Yes. A few people have reported that the SCOTTeVEST rubber pull tab on the main zipper broke. We immediately reported this to our factory in Korea (South Korea that is), and they promptly sent us replacement zipper pulls, which are very easy to install. Please e-mail us if you need a new zipper pull.
"I hope your vest is truly an all weather vest. I travel a lot and mostly in warm weather regions and carry a lot of gadgets and a vest with a lot of ventilation surely is a big help."
You're in luck! Truly perfect for fall and spring, the SeV is not out of place in winter or summer either. MORE >>

WORD ON THE STREET
The following was posted recently on pocketpcpassion.com's discussion board. Responding to a post that suggested a holster would be more appropriate for carrying gadgets than an SeV, "Kre" wrote:
"Dirty Harry Style, huh? You mean like this?: www.eholster.com. I've always wondered if people at work would have a problem with something like a holster. Even though it carries your personal items, it may look as if you're packin' heat when you're in the office. A vest may seem geeky to some, but I think a holster is more so. At least the vest allows someone to blend in a little more :-)"
(Ah yes, yet another reason to pick up a SCOTTeVEST: you won't be mistaken for a gunman.)
SURVEY QUESTION OF THE MONTH:
We recently surveyed our readers and asked them how they heard about the now world-famous SCOTTeVEST. Top responses included: Other web site (2,455 responses), Trade magazine (1,356), Newspaper article (almost 1,000), Friend (961) and E-mail (915). Interestingly, 215 people heard about the SeV at a Tradeshow. Ah, how sweet. And we thought you weren't listening..

"I won a vest (Version 1.0) at the first Pocket PC Summit and, like my American Express card, I don't leave home without it. Thank you for such a great product. My stepmother bought one for my dad after seeing mine last Christmas. He is not a Pocket PC user, but loves it for fishing and hunting! I will be a fan of the vest forever..." -Ken M., CEO/Publisher
"I'm totally pleased I took the plunge! It's amazing. I have my mobile phone on hands free permanently, my headphones hooked up to my Pocket PC... as well as being able to stash the other work stuff I used to lug around in a bag; memory cards, pass card, tape measure... this is a GREAT product."
-Iain M., customer
"I have enjoyed my eVEST immensely... I really liked the v1.0 for trade shows and I have used it in that environment a lot. I was really excited about the v2.0 because it had sleeves and appeared to be a little more stylish."
-Mike M., Ninth House Network

Vestimonial of the month:
"I spend over 50% of the year traveling... But just recently I experienced a new (and important) benefit of the eVest. On take-off... smoke filled the cabin and we had to abort and evacuate. We could take no luggage... but I was wearing my eVest - complete with passport, laptop (in the back pocket), and MP3 player. While we waited on the tarmac... I worked on my laptop, rescheduled an alternate flight, enjoyed my music - and was the only person with water with them. Thanks to my wonderful eVest!" - David Vugteveen
