Going On Safari

You are going on safari and can only bring three SeV products: what would they be? The reason I say only three, is that when going on safari, the amount of luggage you can bring is limited. Very limited. Remember, you will be sleeping in tents and traveling in tiny planes and little Land Rovers with several other people for miles across the plains. And with all the connecting flights to get you out into the African wilds, things can get confusing and often lost. Travel documents, toiletries, camera equipment, medications and money should be “on” you - always. This is why the SeV Travel Vest is the most valuable player in safari clothing. You can easily carry everything you need and wear it comfortably. For long hours. For several days. Maybe even weeks! You can, and you more than likely will!  To carry your camera, water, food bars, money clips, passport, sunscreen, sun glasses, bug spray, medications, tissue, etc. - this vest will amaze you with the amount of stuff you can cram in there, and still keep everything organized and comfortable. There are even tiny pockets for micro cards - handy for camera batteries and photo cards.

Travel Vest for Men

Speaking of photos, another valuable travel accessory for safari is the JOBY Magnetic Gorillapod. Before it was invented, if you wanted to take a photo of yourself with that leopard in the tree behind you, you would need someone to take the shot for you. But what happens when they all run for cover?  Well, no problem because the Gorillapod will hold your camera! It won’t run away because it is fearless, and it has strong magnets that let you mount your camera at odd angles, and flexible legs for wrapping, standing and adjusting heights. While not strong enough to support a heavy DSLR (it can hold cameras up to 11.5 oz), it works for most digital cameras - so you can get that wild African shot.

I recommend you take along comfortable, casual, "wash and wear" clothes. If you are traveling in the winter months (May-September), a warm jacket like the SeV Outback Jacket is great, and December through March I recommend the SeV Tropical Jacket/Vest.

Of course, you’re going to need safari shorts. So I highly recommend the SeV Travel Shorts. With 11 smartly organized pockets, they combine lots of useful pockets and a lightweight design. These shorts are wrinkle resistant, moisture wicking and quick-drying. The deep pockets and magnetic closures keep your contents safe from accidental spillage.

If you are planning to canoe the Lakuga river, never smile at the crocodiles. (And if you do, I recommend a large, heavy paddle in your grip).
