Our Hidden Cargo Pants and Ultimate Cargo Pants are sized by waist/inseam. Our pants sizes are measured by waist/inseam in inches. The Ultimate Cargo Pants are a relaxed fit. Most customers tell us that their size in SeV pants is the same size they wear in most other brands, so we recommend that you get the waist size you normally wear. Between sizes? Order the smaller size for a snugger fit or the larger size for a looser fit. Or take advantage of our amazing return policy and order multiple sizes to try.(This does not apply to Sale items.)

1. Why do I need an SeV?

We don't use temperature ratings because we believe that is very subjective. But, we don't want to leave you stranded out in the cold, so here are some general guidelines:

4. I've looked at the sizing chart, but I'm still not sure what size to order. What should I do if I think I'm between sizes?
It is very easy to exchange for size, however, to expedite the process and save on shipping fees many customers who aren't sure about their size choose to order 2 sizes and then return the size that doesn't fit.

1. Does the SeV come with wires or gadgets?
No, these are things you will have to provide on your own! Our patented Personal Area Network (PAN) is a system of conduits designed to manage and hide wires associated with electronic devices, like the wires and earbuds from your iPod®. We do put little cards in many of the pockets with suggestions of what gadgets/devices might work in that particular pocket. Some pockets also have graphic icons sewn near them to give you an idea of how to use it (e.g., digital camera or cell phone).
2. I have a pacemaker (or similar medical device). Do all of your products have magnets? Can I wear your products?
The Fleece 5.0, Pack Windbreaker, Tropical and all t-shirts (cotton and performance), Q-Zips, Polos and TEC Hats do not have magnets. All of our other products contain magnets. The magnets help keep pockets closed and have received a lot of positive feedback. Magnets (like the magnetic fields from cell phones) may potentially interfere with pacemakers and similar medical devices. If you have a pacemaker or similar medical device and choose to wear a product with magnets, you do so at your own risk. We have had no problems relating to magnets and medical devices, but assume no liability for injury due to magnets and your medical device. We recommend contacting your physician for additional information and specific questions relating to magnets and your pacemaker or medical device.
3. Will magnets damage my electronic devices or cause problems with airport security?
We have used magnets in our products since 2002. They are increasingly being used in wallets, PDA cases and similar products. We have not had any problems with magnets interfering with personal electronic devices (see more below).
Please be advised that we have received isolated complaints about hotel key cards and Travel Cards in the UK being demagnetized. There have not been any problems with ATM or credit cards in the United States. We do advise, however, that you exercise due care and not unnecessarily expose these items to the magnets. Additionally, Droid phones placed near magnets can send the phone into the car dock mode.
The magnets will not cause problems with airport security. Since you would remove any outerwear and put it through the x-ray, this could only potentially be an issue with pants. If one of the screeners runs the "wand" over them the magnets will be similar to a metal button or snap on other pants-they will trigger the beep, but the screener will easily see what they are.
When we first considered using magnets, we were concerned about their effect on electronic devices. According to SanDisk, the leader in the digital memory market, magnets have no effect on flash memory cards.
We decided to perform some tests of our own though, and for 24 consecutive hours, we left a floppy disk that contained a Microsoft Word document, a short MP3, a PDF, and a JPG file sandwiched between two magnets. When the disk was checked 24 hours later, all of the files on it were found to be unharmed. We also left a compact flash card with JPG files on it sandwiched between two magnets--24 hours later these files were also unharmed.
4. Can I order a jacket in one size and sleeves in a different size?
Unfortunately, this cannot be done. Different sizes have armholes of different circumferences, so switching sleeves will not work. Please keep in mind that the sleeves can be pushed up/adjusted/rolled/tailored if your arm length is not proportioned to our sizing.
5. Why are there strips of hook and loop fasteners (similar to Velcro®) at the back of my "hand warmer" pockets rather than stitched seams?
This gives you the ability to access the back lining of your SeV. You can use this feature to either channel wires through the lining or to store extra items in the space.
6. What are the care instructions for the Clear Touch Fabric?
It is important to zip up your SCOTTEVEST product with the clear touch fabric. This not only helps protect the zipper mechanism but also keeps the clear-touch fabric from coming in contact with the hot dryer drum. Do not dry in a hot dryer, commericial dryer or dryers that do not have a tumble dry setting.

2. I live in the U.S. When will my SeV arrive?
We ship all domestic orders via UPS, and shipping time depends on the method you've selected. In addition to Ground, we offer a variety of faster air options. We process orders within 24-48 hours after receipt, Monday through Friday. In most cases orders received by 11:00 am Mountain Time on a weekday will be processed the same day. For information about expedited shipping rates, please view our shipping rates chart.
NOTE: Our products are shipped from the Chicago, IL area. If you are in a rush, we recommend choosing 3 Day Select, 2nd Day Air or Next Day Air instead of Ground.

3. How much is international shipping? How much are duties, tariffs and brokerage fees?
SeV ships outside the US via US Postal Service and United Parcel Service.
Shipping costs are charged based upon location and weight of the ordered items, and rates come directly from the shipper.
If for any reason the shipping charges will be different from what appears during checkout, you will be contacted via email for approval prior to shipping.
PLEASE NOTE: Shipping and handling total presented at checkout does NOT include duties, tariffs or related brokerage fees. Customers are responsible for these additional charges upon delivery. These can sometimes be close to $100, depending on the country. Please contact your local post office or customs office to inquire about these charges. SeV will not offer refunds on items purchased or shipping and handling charges if you refuse to pay duties, tariffs, or other fees. Most products are made in China and South Korea and are thus not eligible under NAFTA.

4. How long will it take to ship to my country?
Shipping times will vary depending on the USPS or UPS method you have selected combined with how long the package takes to clear customs. You will receive an email from either UPS or Stamps.com (for USPS shipments) with your tracking number once the order has shipped.
5. Do you ship to APO addresses?
Yes, we offer shipping to military addresses. When entering your shipping address, select US Military-APO for the "country." We take our military orders to the post office and ship them via USPS on a regular schedule.

We will also accept a certified or cashier's check. For this option, the best thing to do is begin the order process on our site and go through all steps until you need to enter your credit card information. 2. I have a Gift Certificate. How do I use it?
When you enter your order on our site, you will see a box for your Gift Certificate Key Code during the checkout process. You'll need to enter it and click "redeem now" for the code to apply.
3. I have a coupon code. Where do I enter it to get the discount?

Promo Codes are entered on the very FIRST page during the checkout process, in the bottom left of the screen (as shown in the image). Please enter the code here and click redeem to instantly see the new total updated in the cart.
If you missed the Promo Code box, don't worry - you'll get a second chance to enter it on the "Payment Option" screen before you are done checking out.
1. Will I get an order confirmation?
When you place your order, you will receive an email confirmation with your order number. If you do not have email, you will be given your order number when you place your phone order. Orders of in stock items placed before 11:00 am Mountain time, Monday through Friday typically ship that day.
2. Will I get tracking information for my order?
Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email from UPS with your tracking number. UPS emails sometimes get caught in spam, so if you don't receive it, you should check your spam/junk. International shipments will receive tracking information either from UPS or from Stamps.com (for orders shipping USPS).
3. How do I know if what I ordered is in stock?
When you select your size, there will be a note with an ETA for that size if it is not currently in stock. The ETA is our best estimate of when it will be back in stock. It could be slightly earlier or later than that date.
If there isn't a note with an ETA next to the size, then it is in stock. We do our very best to keep our site up to date. If a size sells out overnight or on a holiday/weekend, we will get in touch with you right away with your options. This doesn't happen very often, however, there is always a remote possibility.
4. What if I order a few of things and one of them is on backorder?
Your order will ship once all items are in stock. If you would like us to separate it into 2 orders and ship the in stock items, please reply to your order confirmation or send an email to onlineorders@scottevest.com. Please note that there will be an additional shipping fee for the second order.
1. What is your guarantee?
SeV guarantees all merchandise to be free from defects for 2 years from date of purchase- we stand by our products. Please contact us at sales@scottevest.com if you have a problem with one of our garments and we will repair or replace it at our option. See the video for a full explanation.
Within two years of the purchase date, SeV will either repair or replace your SCOTTEVEST at no cost to you (including shipping). For example, if your zipper fails we will either repair or replace your product free of charge. The exchange process is very simple. However, please know that garments are made by hand and are not intended to withstand extraordinary wear and tear. While we have a very liberal return policy, things like cuts or tears in the material that indicate misuse are not covered by the warranty.
2. What is your Return/Exchange Policy?
We accept exchanges and returns for 30 days** from the original purchase date for non-defective items (i.e. size or color exchanges). Items must be unworn with hangtags attached. ** We will extend the 30 day period for holiday gifts. We ask that you make arrangements for an rma # for holiday gift returns or exchanges by January 8, 2013.
You will need to contact us to arrange an RMA # (Return Merchandise Authorization). We use this number to identify your package when we receive it at our warehouse. The best way to do this is to email sales@scottevest.com and let us know what you are returning and whether you would like anything in exchange. If you don't have access to email, you can call our toll free number 1.866-909-8378. There will be detailed instructions on the back of your packing slip, along with a form to include with your shipment and an address label.
You can use any shipping method you would like to send things back to us, however, we recommend that you use a shipping provider that offers tracking capabilities, since we cannot take responsibility for return shipments that we do not receive. The shipping costs for the return will be your responsibility except in the case of exchanges for defective items.
* Garments purchased as Closeouts or during special events/sales where we indicated "All Sales Final-No Returns or Exchanges" cannot be returned.

The RMA form on the back of your packing slip has an address label you can use. All returns/exchanges should be sent (with the RMA # on the exterior of the package) and RMA form inside to:

4. When will you send my exchange? When will I get credit for my return?
Please note that exchanges will not be sent out until we've received the item back from your original order. Additional charges for shipping the exchange will be charged to the credit card from the original purchase, as will any fees for additional items or more expensive items. Any credit due after an exchange will be refunded to the credit card used for the original purchase.
For returns, we will issue a refund to the credit card used for the purchase for the amount you paid for the garment.
Shipping fees are not refundable.
We process returns and exchanges 2-3 times per week, so depending on when we receive it, your return/exchange will be processed within a few business days. Additionally, most credit card companies take 2-3 business days to post a transaction, so it could take a week after receipt of your return before you see the refund on your credit card.
5. I bought an SeV as a gift for someone and the 30 day return period ended before the gift was received. Can I still return/exchange it? What if I want to order holiday gifts more than 30 days in advance?
We have no problem if the gift recipient wants to return or exchange it, as long as the original order number is provided and the item(s) are returned within 60 days of the original purchase date. The SeV must be unworn and should still have its tags (whether or not attached), in accordance with our regular return policy. We try to extend the return/exchange grace period for holiday gifts when possible.
For the 2012 holiday season, we ask that you contact us before January 8, 2013 to arrange an RMA number.
In all cases, if you purchased something during a special where we indicated "All Sale Final," we will not accept returns.
6. What if my SeV is damaged or defective?
We take great pride in the quality of our clothing. All of our products are guaranteed against material defects for a period of 2 years from the date of purchase. If there is a problem caused by poor workmanship or faulty material within this timeframe, we will either repair or replace the garment, at our discretion. If you feel that your product is defective, please email us at sales@scottevest.com or call us at 866.909.8378 (toll free n the U.S.) and we will take care of the situation as quickly as possible. Please note that normal wear and tear and damage caused by misuse or improper care are not covered.
